School Uniform
Uniform with the school logo
Clothing with the Chilmark and Fonthill Bishop logo (marked with an * below) can be ordered via the school office using the order form below. Uniform with the logo is not mandatory, however we require any non-logo alternatives to be the same colour.
Please see below for information on how to enquire about second hand uniform.
All items of clothing must be clearly named so that in the event of them being mislaid they can be returned to the child.
How To Order Uniform
Print off the uniform order form below, fill it in and hand it in to the school office with payment. We will email your order to our supplier and they will deliver your order to the school as soon as feasible.
School Uniform
Here is the list of uniform that is required to be worn (* = school logo versions available):
Grey tailored trousers / shorts / skirt / pinafore
Green hoodie* / sweatshirt* / cardigan*
White polo shirt* / White shirt (Year 6 only as worn with school tie – provided by the school)
Green and white gingham dress for the summer term
Grey socks / tights / ankle socks may be worn in summer
Footwear: Sensible, dark coloured shoes – not trainers or boots; in summer, sandals are acceptable provided they are closed toe sandals, fastened around the ankle.
P.E. Kit
Here is the list of P.E. Kit that is required to be worn (* = school logo versions available):
White t-shirt*
Green / black shorts / leggings / tracksuit bottoms
Green hoodie*
Lost Property
Any unnamed lost property items will be placed on the lost property box in school. Children may check this box themselves or parents may ask at the office if they wish to look through the unnamed items.
Second-Hand Uniform
The school does have stock of second-hand uniform. Please contact the school office with your uniform request including sizes.
Periodically, Friends of Chilmark School (FoCS), our PTA, will run second-hand uniform sales so you can purchase items at a very reasonable rate. All funds go to FoCS who, in turn, help fund resources for the school.
Jewellery
On health and safety grounds we do not allow children to wear jewellery in school. The exceptions to this rule are small (not dangling) earring studs in pierced ears. Watches are also permitted but should be removed for P.E. We do not permit wrist bands or fitness trackers.
Hair
Long hair should be tied back. Hair accessories should be minimal, plain and in school colours.
Hair should be kept out of children’s eyes using plain headbands, clips and slides in school colours.
Other
No nail varnish or temporary tattoos
