Pupil Premium
What is Pupil Premium?
The Pupil Premium is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils of all abilities and to close the gaps between them and their peers.
Families who are on a lower income or receive certain benefits may qualify for Free School Meals also known as Pupil Premium. (Please note this is a different grant to the Universal Infant Free School Meals which is granted for ALL children from Reception to Year 2).
The Pupil Premium Grant allows for school meals up to Year Six, but also brings in additional funding for the school. This can be used to fund more adult support in class, lower the costs of uniform, pay for school trips and much more. If you think you qualify, please come and talk to us in confidence or visit the link below.

In the financial year, schools will receive funding for each child registered as eligible for free school meals at any point in the last 6 years.
Schools will also receive funding for each pupil identified in the spring school census as having left local-authority care because of one of the following:
- Adoption
- A special guardianship order
- A child arrangements order
- A residence order
- Children who have been in local-authority care for 1 day or more also receive pupil premium funding
See below for a report on how we have used this funding.
