Our Sporting Achievements

We are so proud of all of our pupils in their teams, working together in a variety of sporting events to do the best they can and show great sportsmanship.

Here are some of the events that we have participated in over the last few months:

Sport Events

18/01/2024 – Multi-Skills Sports Event, Warminster – Year 1

The Compass Cluster Schools joined together for a Multi Skills Sports event run by PH Sports with our Y1 children and Y6 sports ambassadors Archie, Lola and Seb at Warminster Civic Centre.

70 Children took part in 6 activities which included indo boarding, where we explored different ways of balancing with support of a partner and on our own, beanbag throwing, which challenged our throwing and accuracy. We scored a magnificent 424 points. The ladder climb tested our coordination as we moved through the ladders without touching them. There were parachute games for teamwork and a racket relay where we had to balance the ball on the racket whilst tackling the obstacles.

Our sports ambassadors explained the games, helped with scoring, encouraged, and offered skills advice.

We took part in a football festival at Shaftesbury secondary school. It was a well organised event and part of the Shaftesbury family school games programme. For some of the children it was their first away match so it was an important fixture.

We are excited and proud to let you know the children were winners and came home with gold medals. We would like to thank Tom, from PH Sports, for his support and encouragement. Well done Team Chilmark!
