Information Technology
Computing
The school has a generous number of laptops, iPads, and programmable robots. All pupils leave having learnt how to code. They are taught digital citizenship, understand how to keep themselves and other safe online and are all fluent in the use of technology.
We find that utilising different techniques to the usual pen and paper approach, help diversify the teaching experience and makes lessons more accessible and memorable for the children.
Classroom Resources
In 2022, we updated the majority of our classroom IT equipment with interactive touchscreens which has improved the delivery of our lessons as well as allow students a more streamlined provision of the learning materials and ability to collaborate with those around them, something that has been proven to help students better learn and retain information.
The use of this technology in the classroom has improved inclusivity as pupils with special educational needs, perhaps having difficulty with their attention and focus, interactive touch screens can be a great help as they make a change from standard teaching styles. This greater inclusivity means that students with different learning levels and abilities can advance with their peers with more ease than they may have previously been able to, resulting in better learning outcomes for all students.
