More about Chilmark and Fonthill Bishop Primary School
Chilmark and Fonthill Bishop Church of England Aided Primary School is a traditional village primary school with traditional values. Despite our traditions we are constantly looking for new ways to engage our pupils in exciting learning and we make excellent use of technology in order to enable every child to do their best.
Although Chilmark and Fonthill Bishop is a Church school (our motto is ‘We live and grow with faith and love’) we welcome people of all faiths, or no faith at all. The school's Christian ethos underpins all that we do and the pupils' spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is excellent. We aim to create a warm, family atmosphere where every child is cared for and feels that they are known and valued for the distinctive individual that they are.
We have what we like to call a 'Chilmark Way' of doing things. This means that we always put the children first and have very high standards and expectations for them. We believe that learning should be fun. We have developed a curriculum which is exciting and we have excellent resources for learning.
Chilmark and Fonthill Bishop Primary School is graded as an ‘Outstanding School’ by Ofsted and has consistently produced excellent academic results. Most of our families choose this school because of personal recommendation from other parents who have seen their children thrive in our stimulating and supportive atmosphere.
We have an excellent reputation locally for sport and we are always keen to get involved in any sporting tournaments. We hold musical extravaganzas and have residential trips for the senior pupils. All of our pupils learn Spanish and we offer a wide range of after-school clubs, many run by supportive parents.
We see everything we do as part of a learning journey and together we work to encourage every child to do their best.
